Enrique Ortega, Ph.D
Professor of Marketing, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain. He obtained a Jean Monnet Permanent Course from the European Union to conduct a doctoral course on Euromarketing and European Integration. He is Director of the Research, Creativity and Innovation Group in Management, Marketing and Tourism. Has published 15 books, is a co-author of five others and have written about one hundred papers in academic and professional journals. Member of the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS), Esomar, the Spanish Association for Opinion and Marketing Research (Aedemo), the Spanish Association for Academic and Professional Marketing (Aemark), and the European Academy of Management and Business Economic (Aedem).
B. Zafer Erdoğan, Ph.D
B. Zafer ERDOGAN is Professor of Marketing, Anadolu University, Turkey. He is currently the director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences. He holds MBA from University of Hartford, CT USA and PhD from the University of Strathclyde, UK. His research interest includes marketing theory, relationship marketing, celebrity endorsement, advertising complaining behaviour, social marketing and developments in marketing communications. He has presented many conference papers and published over twenty research articles in highly ranked academic journals including Journal of Advertising Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Marketing Management and European Journal of Marketing. He serves on editorial boards of academic journals such as Journal of Marketing Communications, Journal of Customer Behaviour and Social Business.
Serra Görpe, Ph.D
Dr. Serra Gorpe is a professor of communications. Prior to joining the academia, she worked as a public relations professional (1988-1999). She is a full-time academic at Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication in the Public Relations and Advertising Department. She graduated from Bogazici University (Istanbul- Turkey) Psychology Department. She holds a postgraduate degree in Social Psychology (MA) from Bogazici University/Turkey. She also has a postgraduate degree in Public Relations (MSc) from Boston University/USA- School of Communication. She received her PhD degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Istanbul University. Her current research includes public relations education, international public relations, crisis management/issues management and corporate responsibility. She has attended a number of national/international conferences where she presented different research papers. She has published articles, made book chapter contributions, and translated, written and edited a number of books related to public relations. She is a former Board Member and currently a member of the Turkish Public Relations Association (TUHID), a member of the European Public Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA) and former Council Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) from Turkey.
Klement Podnar, Ph.D
Dr Klement Podnar is an Associate Professor and serves as the Vice dean for International & Public Relations and Development at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. His research interests lie in corporate & marketing communication, corporate social responsibility, organisational and brand identification. He teaches courses on Corporate Communication, Basics of Visual Communications, Service and International Marketing. His research has been published in journals such as European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Public relations review, Corporate Communications: An International Journal, Journal of Communication Management, Corporate Reputation Review, and Journal of Marketing Communications. He is also Associate Editor of Journal of Promotional Management and editorial board member of several other international journals.
Guda van Noort, Ph.D
Assistant professor of marketing communication in the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) at the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on quantitative research in the field of so-called new media. More specifically she examines the role of new media characteristics, such as interactivity, personalization, and targeting, in the persuasion process of (marketing) communications. In recent research projects, she examined effective webcare strategies to counter online complaints, responses to online behavioral advertising, and advertising campaigns in social network sites. Other studies focused on interactivity effects in brand websites, political websites and online games. Guda has received several rewards and nominations from ICA, International Conference of Research in Advertising (ICORIA), and the Center for Information Based Decision Making & Marketing Research. Her work has been published in leading journals such as Computers in Human Behavior, Cyberpsychology and Behavior, and the Journal of Interactive Marketing.
Ebru Uzunoğlu, Ph.D
Ebru Uzunoğlu is an Associate Professor and works as the Head of the Public Relations and Advertising Department at Izmir University of Economics. She teaches courses on Marketing Communications, Campaign Design In IMC, IMC Projects, and Brand Management. Her research interests include integrated marketing communication, brand management, and social media implementations. She has published research in many journals such as Journal of Marketing Communications, International Journal of Human Sciences, and The Global Media Journal. She worked in several national and international companies as a marketing communication specialist and product manager for 12 years.
Sema Misci Kip, Ph.D
Assistant professor in the Faculty of Communication, Department of Public Relations and Advertising at the Izmir University of Economics. She teaches courses on advertising, media planning and marketing communication. Her research interests are marketing communication, media planning, digital media, advertising and television viewing habits. She graduated from Ege University, Radio Television and Cinema Department. She holds a postgraduate degree in Media (MA) from Southampton Solent University, UK. After completing her MA, she worked at international agencies for the advertising and media planning strategies of national and global brands. She received her Ph.D. in Public Relations and Promotion from Ege University in 2010.
Yeşim Kaptan, Ph.D
Yesim Kaptan is an assistant professor in Faculty of Communication at Izmir University of Economics. She received her Ph.D. in Communication and Culture and Folklore and Ethnomusicology (double major) from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2010. She earned an M.A. in Folklore from Indiana University in 2004. She received a B.A. and an M.A. in Political Science and Public Administration at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Turkey. She is teaching advertising, consumer culture, introduction to media studies, and interpersonal communication. Her research interests are anthropology of media, culture industries, advertising, consumerism, globalization and nationalism in contemporary Turkey. She has published research in The Global Media Journal: Mediterranean Edition, the inaugural issue of The Journal of Arab & Muslim Media Research, The Folklore Historian, and Halkbilim, a refereed journal in the field of Turkish Folklore. Her research interests include culture industries, consumer culture, modernization theories, and contemporary Turkish media.
Tolga Torun, Ph.D
Tolga Torun is Research Assistant of Marketing, Bilecik Seyh Edebali University, Turkey. He holds MBA from Gazi University, Ankara and Ph.D from Dumlupinar University, Kutahya. He had been in Brock University, Canada as a visiting scholar under the supervision of Prof. Philip Kitchen for a year. His research interest includes marketing communications, relationship marketing, social marketing, brand management. He has papers and articles on related interests. He is currently teaching marketing and business in Bilecik Seyh Edebali University.
Burak Amirak has strong background on reputation management, corporate communications, press relations and advertising. Spent 20 years in leveraging the value of consumer and corporate brands in diversified categories via PR & corporate communications, corporate brand management, marketing and strategic planning in advertising. Brands served; Oracle, hurriyetim.com.tr, Piyale, Yapı Kredi Banka, World Card, Aygaz, Unilever (Omo, Domestos, Cif), Efes, Hyundai, Papia, Familia, Danone, Pınar, Avea, Kcell, Azercell. While sharing his 20 years of experience with the students Mr. Amirak is also a Ph.D student in Ege University.
Pınar Umul, M.A.
Graduated from the same department in 2009, Pınar Umul has been a member of IUE Faculty of Communication as research assistant in Public Relations and Advertising Department since October 2009. She has completed her dissertation in Izmir University of Economics Media and Communication Studies Graduate Program as of 2012; titled “Reflections of Organizational Culture on University Web Sites: A Comparative Study of Turkish State and Foundation Universities”. She is currently taking courses in Anadolu University, Communication Design and Management Ph.D. program. Her research subjects are interdisciplinary; covering the issues of digital media and culture, communication technologies, organizational culture and organizational communication and popular culture.
Sercin Sun Ipekesen, M.A.
Sercin Sun Ipekesen is research assistant of Public Relations and Advertising at IUE, where she has been since 2010. She holds a postgraduate degree in Dokuz Eylul University. She wrote a treatise about political communication activities. She is currently taking courses in Anadolu University, Communication Design and Management Ph.D. program. Her research interests are in guerilla marketing, political communication and advertising. In addition Mrs. Ipekesen also has an experience in the field in communication both national and international area.
